Make 16 feathers, and 8 feathers (reversed).
Draw an 11" circle on the center of your Nine-Patch Block.
Arrange 16 feathers around the circle. (I added mine at top, bottom, left, right. Then I added one in the middle of each section. Then another one in the middle of each section again.)
Arrange 8 feathers (reversed) inside of the circle, the same way as before.
Applique using your favorite method. (I traced my feathers on Steam a Seam 2, fused in place, and appliqued using a machine blanket stitch.)
Layer backing, batting, and top fabric together. For additional information about basting, see my Quilting Essentials -- How to Prep and Baste Your Quilt for Machine Quilting online class.
Follow Lesson 8, Lesson 9, and Lesson 10 for machine quilting instruction.
Binding:
Piece binding strips diagonally. Press in half, right sides together.
Apply to quilt using your favorite method.
