Blanket Fort Mystery Quilt Along
A quilt along where you won't know what the quilt looks like until it is finished!
What is a Mystery Quilt?
A Mystery Quilt is a quilt where you won't know what the quilt will look like until you've finished making it!
How can I select fabric if I don't know what the finished quilt will look like?
That's the fun part! This is a great chance to play with fabric. Select solids or batiks, reproductions or novelty fabrics, or simply raid your stash.
Blanket Fort is a quick and easy quilt made with large pieces. No individual piece will be cut smaller than 4 1/2" so you can throw in a large-scale print or two without losing the impact.
Materials needed
Fabric 1 1 yard
Fabric 2 1 yard
Fabric 3 1/2 yard
Fabric 4 3/4 yard
Fabric 5 1 yard
Binding 5/8 yard
Backing 64"x64" (3 3/4 yards)
Choosing Your Fabrics
I plan to make two quilts and have arranged my two selections of fabric.
This first selection has a striped fabric in it. If you choose a stripe for fabric one or two, be sure to watch my live videos before you start stitching. I'll address how to piece some of the steps to make sure your stripes are in the direction you want them to be!
This second range of fabric uses a novelty print. If you want to use a focus fabric, Fabric 5 will show it off best.

Your Instructor
Three decades into her quilting life, Debby fell ill with a rare autoimmune disease. She learned that among all of her treatments, quilting was the best medicine as she fought to regain some control over her deteriorating body. Once again active, Debby is now passionate about helping quilters gain confidence in their machine quilting skills so they too can quilt their way through life.
