Summer makes me think of sunshine and picnics and fresh fruits!
I designed Gingham Style using basic Color Blocks. Play with light and dark tones of the same color to give the appearance of a woven picnic blanket. Enhance that woven look by crossing different colors of thread when machine quilting.
Walking on Sunshine is my version of a warm sun, blue skies, and lush grass. I had fun with the machine quilting -- continuous curve in the blocks, ribbon candy in the sashings, and switchbacks in the border.
Is there anything better than a fresh and juicy watermelon? Using Color Block Right Triangles, thin green strips of rind, and buttons for seeds, this quilt is refreshment for the eyes. I selected a fun flower stencil for the machine quilting and looped between the stencils.
Pineapple of my Eye is a statement quilt! Basic Color Blocks and Right Triangle Color Blocks mix together perfectly. I chose a pink background, but your pineapple can be set against whatever backdrop you choose! I quilted the traditional Orange Peel design over this entire quilt using a ruler against the foot of the machine. The texture is out of this world!

Three decades into her quilting life, Debby fell ill with a rare autoimmune disease. She learned that among all of her treatments, quilting was the best medicine as she fought to regain some control over her deteriorating body. Once again active, Debby is now passionate about helping quilters gain confidence in their machine quilting skills so they too can quilt their way through life.
